Tenth Avenue Band

The band was formed out of the Heaton People’s Band which started in 1988, and since 1992 the Tenth Avenue Band has been entertaining audiences on the street, in theatres, halls, and pubs.

We are a street band based on Tyneside in north-east England.

We play an energetic and irresistible blend of music from around the world including African, Balkan, klezmer, Latin American, ska, jazz, and waltz tunes.

Our line-up includes saxophones, flutes, trombones, clarinet, trumpet, percussion and guitars.

We’ll play indoors or out, including festivals, concerts, parties, parades, weddings, carnivals, charity events - anyone who wants us!  That includes all over the UK and Europe - we’ve played throughout Britain, as well as in France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic.
